Petrified forest are fossils formed from fallen tress. In many millions ago, this places was a forest, now it is basically the desert, the fossils of trees are still everywhere around this area. (2 years ago.)

Is it worth to visit? It takes around 2 hours drive from Seattle.

Unless you are hard core to the fossils, this park doesn't have much to see except a few petrified logs. This park is close to I-90 and the Columbia River, so if you happen visit somewhere else,... (2 years ago.)

Yes, however you can't take them from the park, you can buy it from a gift store nearby. There are lots of petrified logs and fossils there. (2 years ago.)
